According to a press release issued by the Accra Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on June 21, 2026, preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, while Hon. Adwoa Safo was visiting her late father's residence at Kwabenya. The statement disclosed that the former lawmaker sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear during the incident.
