E/R:Sokode Juaso Chief Donates Plywood to Support Kukurantumi Wesley Methodist Church Project

Barimah Dr. Kwabena Awuah Parker I, Chief of Sokode Juaso in the Abuakwa North Municipality of Ghana’s Eastern Region, has donated 20 pieces of plywood to the Akyem Kukurantumi Wesley Methodist Church to support the completion of a platform at the church’s newly constructed hall. The donation was made on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, as part of efforts to assist the church in completing the ongoing construction works and make the new facility fully functional for church activities and other community engagements. Presenting the items on behalf of Barimah Dr. Kwabena Awuah Parker I, Chairman of the Abuakwa North Constituency NDC, Alhaji Sadidi Mohammed, said the chief had earlier pledged to support the project with 40 pieces of plywood.   The Abuakwa South Municipal office of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), under the leadership of Mr. Aikins Ofori, has successfully executed a preemptive disaster prevention exercise in Sagyimase, clearing out hazardous Cedrela trees that posed an imminent threat to local residents. The targeted operation, carried out at Bankyease Number 1, focused on towering Cedrela trees that had become structurally compromised and were heavily leaning toward residential properties. Local authorities noted that these trees presented a severe risk of falling during heavy storms, which could have led to devastating structural damage and loss of life. The intervention followed safety concerns raised regarding property lines in the area.
