E/R:MCE Assures Kwahu West Residents of Greater Transformation Under “Reset Agenda”

  The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has held a Town Hall Meeting at Nkawkaw to strengthen local governance, accountability, and transparency, in line with the Local Government Act, Act 936 (2016), which mandates assemblies to engage citizens and render accounts of their stewardship. Addressing stakeholders, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), urged residents to rally behind the new administration to achieve the vision of “greater transformation” under the Reset Agenda. He highlighted several developmental initiatives undertaken since assuming office, including the construction of schools with ancillary facilities, mechanized boreholes, and CHPS compounds. E/R:Kabaka Foundation, Psychiatrist Urge Students to Stay Away from Drugs

  The Kabaka Foundation has launched a nationwide campaign to sensitize students on the dangers of drug abuse, beginning with an engagement at St. Peter’s Senior High School in Kwahu Nkwatia, Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region. Speaking on behalf of the Foundation’s Founder and Kwahu Nkwatia Nkosouhene, Nana Owiredu Wadie, the Executive Director, Mr. Henry Larbi, stressed that drug abuse is having a devastating impact on Ghana’s youth. He noted that as part of efforts to address the menace, the Foundation, in collaboration with the Eastern Regional Psychiatric Hospital in Koforidua, has cut sod for the construction of a modern Mental Health Hospital to help curb rising cases of substance abuse.   Breast cancer cases in Ghana continue to rise at an alarming rate, affecting not only women but also men, with thousands of new cases reported annually. In response to this growing public health concern, the Cocoa Research Institute (CRIG) Ladies Club has officially launched the 2025 edition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, under the theme “Early Detection Saves Lives. Get Screened.” The month-long campaign, running from October 1st to 31st, 2025, is packed with activities aimed at promoting education, early detection, and support for breast cancer patients. These include a mental health and breast cancer seminar, outreach programs focusing on breast screening, a community awareness walk, and the popular “Casual Pink Friday” initiative, where staff and stakeholders dress in pink to symbolize solidarity with survivors and patients.
