E/R:Kwahu West MCE Leads Massive Clean-Up to Mark National Sanitation Day
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, on Saturday led a major clean-up exercise in Nkawkaw to mark the beginning of this month’s National Sanitation Day, reinforcing calls for routine environmental cleanliness. The five-hour operation, which began at 5:00 AM, saw a united front of stakeholders including the Ghana Fire Service, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, various local institutions, volunteers, and the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly. The cleanup started from the Nkawkaw New Station, continued through the Central Business District, and ended at the Nkawkaw Central Market. Participants desilted heavily clogged gutters, removed weeds, and collected large amounts of waste, including plastic materials, sachet water packs, and discarded clothing.
