Family of Late Dr. Omane Boamah Appeals for Security Service Recruitment Slots to Honour His Legacy
The family of the late Minister for the Interior, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, is appealing to the Government of Ghana to consider granting special recruitment slots within the security services to qualified relatives of the eight state officials who perished in the military helicopter crash of 6th August 2025. According to the family, such a gesture would serve as a national acknowledgment of the dedication, sacrifice, and years of service Dr. Boamah and the other officials rendered to the state before their untimely demise. On August 6, 2025, a Ghana Air Force Harbin Z-9 helicopter transporting government officials to an anti-galamsey mission crashed into a forested mountainside in the Ashanti Region.
