Central Region – Anas Ahmed, who is vying for Central Regional Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, has urged voters to stop electing leaders based on short-term handouts and to instead assess them on their capacity to deliver development. In a statement, Mr. Ahmed cautioned electorates against being swayed by what he described as “fake love, generosity and care” displayed by some politicians during election periods. “The gospel truth is that anytime money exchanges hands, some of these individuals see it as an investment,” he said. “They expect a return, and once they get what they want, they disappear until the next election cycle.” According to him, money sent via mobile money or distributed directly to voters is not charity, but a transaction aimed at securing votes. “My brothers and sisters, do not fall into the trap of these syndicates.
