Anas Ahmed Appeals to President Mahama to Revive Takoradi-Accra Train Line to Ease Capital Congestion
Ghana– Anas Ahmed, Aspiring NDC Central Regional Deputy Secretary for 2026, has made a direct appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize the proposed railway project linking Takoradi to Accra via Cape Coast, Mankesim, Apam, and Winneba. In his open letter titled _“Humble Appeal to H.E John Dramani Mahama,”_ Ahmed argues that an operational train service along the coastal corridor could be a game-changer for Ghana’s urban planning and daily commuting stress. He says the congestion choking Accra can be significantly reduced if more people choose to settle in growing towns along the proposed rail stretch, including Gomoa, Apam, Twifo Praso, Cape Coast, and Effutu.
