E/R: Cattle Sellers Appeal for Support at Newly Established Livestock Market in Nkawkaw-Oframase

The recently developed livestock market at Nkawkaw-Oframase in the Eastern Region is fast becoming a hub for cattle trade, but sellers are appealing to the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly for essential support to fully realize its potential. The market, situated on a 4-acre (20-plot) parcel of land, is designed to accommodate up to 2,500 cattle at full capacity and is expected to create over 200 indirect jobs. Sales at the facility take place every Tuesday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a structured and efficient space for the buying and selling of cattle, sheep, and lambs. Alhaji Gariba Osman, speaking on behalf of the Nkawkaw Cattle Sellers Association, explained that the market was initiated by local developers to boost the livestock sector and improve revenue mobilization in the municipality.
