E/R:Transformer Fixed, Power Restored in Abuakwa North After Swift ECG Intervention

The Abuakwa North NADMO Secretariat in Ghana's Eastern Region led by Hon Joseph Ansah announces the successful fixing of a fallen transformer, which occurred on April 7, 2026, at 7:40 pm. The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) began repairs on April 9, 2026, at 3:00 pm and completed the work on April 10, 2026, at 5:00 pm, restoring power to affected areas, including the Hawa Memorial Saviour Hospital. NADMO expresses gratitude to the authorities involved in preventing a potential disaster, emphasizing that "prevention pays." The secretariat reaffirms its commitment to working towards avoiding preventable dangers in the future. E/R: Okyenhene Strips Off Daasebre Title of Etwereso Chief Over Alleged Rebellion

The Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has stripped Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe of his title with immediate effect over alleged acts of rebellion against the Okyeman state. In a solemn declaration issued at the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi on Friday, April 10, 2026, the Okyenhene and the Standing Committee of Okyeman accused the Etwereso chief of making statements deemed treasonous, including attempts to break away and form a separate “Odau state.” The statement noted that the chief had also refused to honour an invitation to appear before the council, an act described as disrespectful to traditional authority. As part of the sanctions, the former chief has been removed from the Okyeman Standing Committee, barred from all traditional engagements, and denied audience at the palace.
