Image
The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has urged the country to make a concerted effort to create equal opportunities for all Ghanaians, especially those in rural communities. According to him, many brilliant children in rural areas lack the same opportunities as their urban counterparts to develop and showcase their talents. Speaking at a traditional durbar in Wenchi as part of his 25th Anniversary celebrations of ascending the Ofori Panin Stool, Osagyefuo emphasized that providing equal opportunities in education will allow rural children to discover their talents and compete globally. He also highlighted the importance of focusing on women’s empowerment, citing their prudent use of even the smallest investments. As part of his commitment to education, the Okyenhene has constructed 10 model schools within the Akyem Abuakwa State. The Amoatia Ofori Panin Model Schools, one of which was commissioned in Akyem Wenchi prior to the durbar, consist of nine classrooms, a computer labo...

Where Are They?" – A Call for Self-Examination and Faithfulness

Image
In a sermon delivered at Koforidua Ascension Presbyterian Church, on the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, Catechist Vida Annan posed three poignant questions: "Where are you? Where is he/she? Where are they?" These questions served as the pivot of her message, challenging Christians to reflect on their faith, journey and commitment to God. Catechist Annan expressed concern about the various reasons that keep Christians, including children, leaders, and even men and women of God, away from the house of God and off the Narrow path to salvation. She emphasized that if Christians were honest with themselves, there would be no need for a prophet to warn them of their missteps and rebellious attitudes against the Word of God. She urged the congregation to conduct self-examination, identifying areas in which they have strayed from God’s Word and wandered onto the Broadway that leads to destruction.  Among the behaviors that cause this drift, the Catechist mentioned gossiping, immoral re...

On the occasion of "Flower Day" during the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s "Change of Pulpit" program, Rev. Richard Oduro Mantey, the Nankese District Minister, delivered a profound message at the Koforidua Ascension Presbyterian Church. His sermon, themed "Caring for God's Creation," emphasized the responsibility of all people, created in the image of God, to cherish, care for, and preserve the earth. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof, the world, and they that dwell therein," Rev. Mantey reminded the congregation of God's love and care for the world and humanity. He highlighted that God, in His infinite love, created a beautiful earth filled with trees, flowers, animals, and rivers, all of which were entrusted to man. Rev. Mantey likened humanity’s duty to care for the environment to Jesus’ instruction to Peter: "If you love me, care for my sheep." He stated that loving G...
