E/R: Impending Danger on Bunso–Koforidua Highway: Broken-Down Truck Poses Serious Risk to Road Users

  A major road hazard has been reported on the Bunso–Koforidua Highway, as a broken-down truck with registration number GT 8323-23 has been left unattended for almost a week at Osiem–Awooye Junction, blocking one lane of the road. The situation has created a serious danger for motorists and other road users, especially at night and during poor visibility. According to reports from the Akyem Osiem NADMO Operations Team, the faulty truck was discovered on Thursday, 17th October 2025, around 2:00 p.m. The driver explained that a mechanic was working on the vehicle but could not confirm when repairs would be completed. NADMO officials have since alerted the Police and are urging all drivers and commuters to exercise extreme caution when using that stretch of the highway to prevent any possible disaster. Linda Ahenkrah, has led a special operation by the District Galamsey Taskforce that resulted in the arrest of one person and the destruction of eight changfang machines on the Pra River at Nyamebekyere Ablade-Apetey. The exercise forms part of the district’s renewed commitment to clamp down on illegal mining activities, which continue to threaten water bodies and farmlands in the area. POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR IMPERSONATING A POLICE OFFICER

The National Operations Directorate (NOD) Surveillance Unit, of the Ghana Police Service  has arrested a 32-year-old man, Akoto Nelson, for posing as a police officer during a public event at the Black Star Square in Accra. The suspect was arrested on Sunday, 19th October 2025, by a team of officers deployed to provide security at a musical concert. The team observed the suspect dressed in a police uniform with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) behaving suspiciously. Upon interrogation, he admitted that he was not a police officer. Investigations revealed that the suspect impersonated a police officer to gain free entry to the event, claiming he did not have money to pay the entry fee. He further disclosed that the uniform belonged to a deceased Chief Inspector, identified as Gyasi, from whom he obtained the police accoutrements in 2022.
