  A devastating rainstorm accompanied by strong winds struck parts of Abuakwa North on the evening of Tuesday, 20th May 2025, around 7:00 pm, lasting nearly three hours and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. ‎ ‎At New Tafo Ayigbe Town, an “Atakpame” mud house with house number TB 246 collapsed as a result of the storm, affecting ten individuals. Tragically, a two-year-old boy, Okyere Eugene, lost his life and has since been transported to the New Tafo Government Hospital mortuary for further investigation.
