E/R: Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly Unveils District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) Equipment to Boost Rural Road Infrastructure

On September 11, 2024, the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region of Ghana unveiled new equipment under the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) to tackle the deteriorating road conditions in rural areas. The unveiling ceremony took place at the Assembly’s premises in Akyem Kukurantumi, where the equipment, including two tipper trucks, a grader, a roller, three concrete mixers, a backhoe, a pay loader, and a water tanker, were introduced. The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, emphasized that this initiative, led by the Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia government, aims to improve road conditions in rural communities across all 260 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana, including Abuakwa North.
