E/R:MP Abena Osei-Asare Commissions Doctors’ Bungalow at Enyiresi Government Hospital

  The Enyiresi Government Hospital in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region has received a newly constructed two-storey self-contained building to serve as accommodation for doctors, courtesy of the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Abena Osei-Asare. The facility was commissioned and officially handed over on 19th December 2025. Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Abena Osei-Asare explained that the project was motivated by the long-standing challenge of inadequate accommodation, which often discourages doctors from accepting postings to rural areas. She said the provision of decent housing is key to attracting and retaining medical professionals in such communities. E/R:Akyem Abuakwa State Council Holds Fourth Quarter Meeting, Okyenhene Speaks on Insurance, Decentralisation and Illegal Mining

  The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council has successfully held its 2025 Fourth Quarter State Council Meeting at the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi, bringing together Nananom and indigenes from across Okyeman to deliberate on key development issues. The meeting, held on Friday, 19th December 2025, marked the final State Council gathering for the year and provided an opportunity for reflection on the year under review and planning for the year ahead. Chiefs and representatives from all divisions of Akyem Abuakwa State, including Adonten, Benkum, Nifa, Gyaase, Oseawuo, Kyebi, the Amantuomiensa, and indigenes from over 940 towns and villages, were present. Addressing the gathering, the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, expressed concern over the low subscription of chiefs to an insurance scheme designed to protect their welfare.
