E/R:Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo Donates Footballs to Support End-of-Year Youth Gala in Akyem Tontro

The former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North and former Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, has donated six professional five-aside footballs to the youth of Akyem Tontro in support of their end-of-year football gala.


The donation was made on Saturday, 20th December 2025, as youth from Akyem Old Tafo, New Tafo, Tontro, and surrounding communities competed for the ultimate trophy in the gala competition.

Presenting the items on behalf of Hon. Dr. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, Mr. Stephen Osei-Wusu explained that the footballs were designated as prizes for the competition, with three balls for the ultimate winners, two for the first runners-up, and one for the second runners-up.

Mr. Osei-Wusu also conveyed the former MP’s goodwill message to the competing teams and admonished them to ensure a peaceful and disciplined tournament, devoid of violence or any acts capable of disrupting the peace of the enclave.


The footballs were presented to the Tontro Electoral Area Chairman, Mr. Afari, and his executive team for onward presentation to the youth groups.
