E/R:Abuakwa North MCE Honours Chief of Sokode-Juaso and Akyem Tafo Police Commander for Leadership in Community Development and Security
The Abuakwa North Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, has recognized two prominent leaders for their dedication and impactful contributions to the community. Barimah Dr. Awuah Parker, the Chief of Sokode-Juaso, and Superintendent Isaac Ampofo, Akyem Tafo’s District Police Commander, were both honored at the 40th Farmers' Day Celebration held on November 8, 2024, in Sokode-Juaso. The event was celebrated under the theme "Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security."
During the ceremony, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga lauded Barimah Dr. Awuah Parker for his exemplary leadership within just one year of his enstoolment as the Chief of Sokode-Juaso. He highlighted the socio-economic growth achieved in the area under the chief’s guidance, attributing much of the community's development to his visionary leadership. Hon. Dr. Alhaji Bodinga encouraged him to continue his efforts in transforming Sokode-Juaso into a prosperous and thriving community.
Turning to Superintendent Isaac Ampofo, the MCE commended his unwavering commitment to improving security throughout the municipality. Hon. Dr. Alhaji Bodinga praised Supt. Ampofo’s efforts in crime prevention and proactive policing, acknowledging his significant role in addressing security concerns, especially related to the incursions of nomadic herdsmen, commonly referred to as "Fulanis," which have been a recurring issue in the area. He described Supt. Ampofo as a "team player and a unifier with a heart of gold," recognizing his dedication to creating a safer environment for all residents.
As part of the honor, both leaders received certificates of appreciation and practical farm inputs to support local agricultural activities, including fertilizers, farm boots and cutlasses. Additionally, Barimah Dr. Awuah Parker received streetlight bulbs to enhance visibility in Sokode-Juaso, a gesture symbolizing the community's progress and their leaders' commitment to safety and sustainability.
The 40th Farmers' Day Celebration was a memorable occasion that underscored the value of leadership in both community development and security, with Hon. Dr. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga's recognition of these leaders exemplifying the spirit of unity and progress in Abuakwa North.
