The Nkosouhene of Akyem Nyafoman in the Birim North District, Abirem Constituency of the Eastern Region, Nana Totuo Kantinka, has once again extended his support to final-year students in his community ahead of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). In a short ceremony held at the forecourt of the Nyafoman Roman Catholic Basic and Junior High School, Nana Totuo Kantinka donated 50 mathematical sets and several packs of pens to all BECE candidates to help them adequately prepare for their exams. In addition, he presented 600 exercise books to the school.   A devastating rainstorm accompanied by strong winds struck parts of Abuakwa North on the evening of Tuesday, 20th May 2025, around 7:00 pm, lasting nearly three hours and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. ‎ ‎At New Tafo Ayigbe Town, an “Atakpame” mud house with house number TB 246 collapsed as a result of the storm, affecting ten individuals. Tragically, a two-year-old boy, Okyere Eugene, lost his life and has since been transported to the New Tafo Government Hospital mortuary for further investigation.
