E/R:JESUS ACCEPTS ALL-CLERGY
In the pulpit, on 18th May, 2025 which was the 5th Sunday after Easter as specified on the Almanac of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Koforidua Ascension congregation of Presbyterian Church was privileged to have a renowned evangelist, Boniface Adjei mounting the pulpit to preach the gospel.
Preaching on the theme, JESUS ACCEPTS ALL, had the readings from the good book chosen from Acts 11: 1-18; Rev. 21:1 - 6 and Jn. 13: 31, 35.
Evangelist Boniface Adjei assured the congregation that Jesus accepts all and that, with His outstretched hands when nailed on the Cross between the thief and the robber, the Lord demonstrated his open invitation and by so doing, promised the robber who accepted, a place in the kingdom of heaven.
After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Peter, one of the disciples who had denied Jesus during His trial, was empowered to preach the word of God which got three thousand souls saved on the same day.
In Jopa, at the house of Cornelius, God revealed to Peter that He 'Accepts All' and that no one should be described Unclean and that was also manifestation of that was demonstrated when Peter, preached at the house of Cornelius.
Jesus' open invitation and Acceptance of All' was again demonstrated when the gentiles, described by the Jews as 'unclean' were baptized with the Holly Spirit.
Evangelist Boniface Adjei said if Jesus accepts all and baptises without discrimination, how dare any individual rejects any other person? He said there is no nonentity before God and as such one should never look down on another one. He cautioned all never to despise another for, he, who may be despised today, could be the one who might save one's life the next day.
Evangelist Boniface Adjei, in another perspective, spoke about persistent Christian living. He said through persistence, a Canaanite woman who had been classified a dog, received the blessing which to the Jews was never to be enjoyed by gentiles but Jesus, who 'Accepts All' told the woman "your faith has made you whole" and by that, the Canaanite woman, had instant healing for her daughter.
Evangelist Boniface Adjei encouraged the church to choose persistent Christian faith rather than being casual Christians. He said they should be Extra Ordinary Christians but not Ordinary Christians. They should be 'Born Again' Christians, where all old things in their lives pass away and give way to all things, becoming new. They should avoid moving on the 'Broad and easy way' because that way leads to destruction.
He said born again Christians exhibit newness of life where cheating, stealing, fornicating, drunkenness, abuse of drugs, corruption and other uncontrolled lifestyle are avoided. He said 'nominal Christians' who live easy and sinful lifestyle, die and go to hell but those who live the persistent lifestyle are those assured the New heavens and the New earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Evangelist Boniface Adjei encouraged the congregation to choose persistent Christian living in order not to be overtaken by thieves, tax collectors and harlots who might repent and accept Christ before their eyes are closed in death.
In summary, Evangelist Boniface Adjei said it is not easy to overcome the world but Christians can do all things through Christ who strengthens them and that with Christ, all things are possible. Jesus invites all who are heavy laden to come unto him and they would all be given rest. Jesus says furthermore; "take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and humble".
With all that, Evangelist Boniface Adjei exhorted the congregation to be addicted to the reading of the word of God. They should meditate on the word of God and put the word of God into practice. He said by so doing, the prosperity of God would come their way. That is God's assurance as He told Joshua "Do not depart from the word of God but meditate upon it day and night and observe all that is written therein to get your way prosperous".
