A tragic incident has plunged the community of Akyem Osiem-Kyekyewere in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region into deep mourning, following the gruesome murder of a 13-year-old student, Richmond K. Antony, popularly known as “Paa.” The heartbreaking incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, June 11, 2025, when Richmond, a Form One student of Akyem Osiem SDA Junior High School, was reportedly attacked and butchered in front of an uncompleted building near his home by an unknown assailant. According to the victim’s father, Richmond had stepped out around 7:00 p.m. to buy food but returned moments later with deep cutlass wounds, crying for help. Ghana Immigration Officer Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run Near Accra Passport Office

Accra, July 20, 2025 — A tragic incident occurred at dawn today near the Accra Passport Office at Tema Station, as an officer of the Ghana Immigration Service was found dead in a pool of blood following a hit-and-run. The deceased, identified as AICOII Japhet, a member of Intake 28 of the Ghana Immigration Service and stationed at the Greater Accra Regional Command, was initially suspected to have been murdered. However, further accounts from eyewitnesses have confirmed that he was knocked down by a speeding vehicle. According to an eyewitness account, the officer had parked his vehicle to attend to a minor accident involving another car. After attempting to repair the damaged vehicle, he was returning to his own car when a speeding vehicle struck him, killing him on the spot. The incident occurred around 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025. According to eyewitness reports, Ali was caught red-handed carrying a large sack filled with electrical cables allegedly stolen from a newly constructed two-storey building situated near the church premises.
