W/R:Amenfi Central MP Joana Gyan Cudjoe Calls for Unity, Investment to Drive Development

MANSO AMENFI, WESTERN REGION — The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central Constituency, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has called on residents to support her development agenda and urged private investors and development partners to invest in the constituency to create jobs and improve living standards.

Speaking during a community engagement, the MP said her vision was to transform Amenfi Central into a hub of economic opportunities through job creation, improved infrastructure, and sustainable solutions to the water challenges confronting several communities.

Hon. Gyan Cudjoe highlighted ongoing interventions to improve access to potable water, including the drilling of 30 boreholes and the third phase of a large-scale rural water project expected to benefit 40 communities.

She said access to clean water remained a major priority for her office, stressing that a reliable water supply would improve public health and ease the burden on women and children who often struggle to obtain water for domestic use.

On healthcare, the MP outlined projects including the construction of Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds at Sraha Ayiem, Ankasie, Jedua Kese, and Hiawa, as well as a maternity block with an operating theatre at Manso Amenfi.

She also mentioned the construction of classroom blocks in several communities, police stations, and the rehabilitation of feeder roads to improve access to farming communities and facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce to market centres.

On employment, Hon. Gyan Cudjoe said she was working to attract investors into agriculture, small-scale processing, and the services sector to create sustainable job opportunities, particularly for the youth.

She therefore appealed to private investors and development partners to explore the economic potential of Amenfi Central and invest in businesses and projects that would improve livelihoods and stimulate local economic growth.

"Our vision is to transform communities, improve living standards, and create opportunities for sustainable development. But I need your continuous support and unity to achieve this. Let us work together to bring more jobs, solve our water problems, and make Amenfi Central attractive for investment," she urged.

Some residents and opinion leaders who participated in the engagement commended the MP for her people-centred approach to development and pledged their support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of constituents.
