Barimah Dr Kwabena Awuah Parker I
The Chief of Akyem Sokode-Juaso, Barimah Dr Kwabena Awuah Parker I, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, embarked on a church tour across the Abuakwa North and New Juaben North municipalities to express his appreciation to churches for their participation and support during the Abuakwa North for Christ Crusade, the commissioning of the Akyem Sokode-Juaso Durbar Grounds, and the Thanksgiving Service held on October 18, 2026.
The churches visited included the Akyem Sokode-Juaso Pentecost Church, Believe In Christ International Ministries at Akyem Sokode-Juaso, Akyem Kukurantumi Methodist Church, and Full Gospel International Church at Oyoko, among others.
Addressing the congregations, the chief expressed his heartfelt appreciation for their participation and overwhelming support, describing their involvement as a demonstration of unity and cooperation among churches within the area.
He called on Christians to remain united, strengthen their relationships with one another, and put their trust in God rather than human beings.
Barimah Dr Awuah Parker I also emphasised the importance of humility and dedication to service, describing them as essential qualities for achieving success in life.
According to him, humility and selfless service can open doors of opportunity in unexpected places. He therefore admonished the congregation and the general public to prioritise humility, dedication, and service to mankind as they pursue success in their personal and professional lives.
The chief also addressed misconceptions surrounding chieftaincy and traditional practices, particularly the perception among some community members and religious leaders that chieftaincy is associated with idol worship.
He explained that chiefs and men of God played significant leadership roles in biblical times, stressing that traditional leadership should not automatically be equated with idol worship.
Using himself as an example, the chief described his roles as a traditional ruler, pastor, and doctor to illustrate how traditional leadership, religious service, and professional practice can coexist.
As part of his commitment to supporting the churches, the chief pledged various items to assist their development. The items included metal-fabricated security doors, bags of cement, chandeliers, and other building materials.
He further assured the churches of his willingness to participate in their programmes whenever he was available, encouraging them to invite him to their activities.
In a related development, Barimah Dr Awuah Parker I urged individuals who underwent eye screening and were prescribed medicated lenses to visit the Akyem Tafo Government Hospital to access the necessary treatment and collect their prescribed lenses.
He explained that arrangements had been made to provide treatment and distribute medicated lenses to the beneficiaries, urging them to take advantage of the provision.
The pastors and church members expressed joy and appreciation for the chief's visit and generous pledges. They prayed for God's blessings, good health, and continued success in his leadership and community development initiatives.
Barimah Dr Awuah Parker I also used the occasion to thank all individuals and groups who contributed to the success of the Abuakwa North for Christ Crusade, the commissioning of the Durbar Grounds, and the Thanksgiving Service.
He emphasised that unity among traditional authorities, religious leaders, and community members remained essential to achieving sustainable development.
The chief was accompanied on the tour by members of his traditional council and the press.
