E/R: New Juaben North MCE Warns Sanitation Defaulters Will Face Bye-Laws
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of New Juaben North, Hon. Samuel Adongo, has emphasized that the Assembly will continue to apply its bye-laws against persons who exempted themselves from the National Sanitation Day clean-up exercise.
Although the exercise is marked every first Saturday of the month nationwide, the New Juaben North Municipality rescheduled its clean-up to Saturday, October 10, 2026.
In an interview, Hon. Adongo stated that sanitation must be dear to the heart of every resident to ensure a malaria-free environment, noting that cleanliness is next to godliness.
He said all hands must be on deck to fight against intermittent malaria and the overflowing of drainage systems. This, he explained, will help reduce government expenditure on malaria healthcare, and the money saved could be channelled into other equally important developmental projects.
He stressed that the National Sanitation Day exercise is a shared responsibility and therefore no one should be left out.
He also commended the good people of Akwadum for their massive turnout and passionate approach, as well as Nananom, the security personnel — especially the Immigration Service and the Ghana Fire Service — and the Assembly Members for their support.
