E/R: Kwahu West Assembly Engages Residents at Asuboni Rails Town Hall Meeting

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, has urged residents of the Asuboni Rails Zonal Council to remain committed to paying their taxes to enable the Assembly to address their development needs and improve living conditions.

He gave the assurance at a town hall meeting organized by the Asuboni Rails Zonal Council at Kokompe. The meeting was aimed at identifying the pressing challenges facing residents in the area and gathering first-hand information for redress.

During an open forum, residents outlined their key challenges and development needs, including poor road networks, extension of electrification projects, a CHPS compound, and other social amenities. The MCE listened attentively and assured them that the Assembly would work tirelessly to address their concerns.

He, however, emphasized that the achievement of those development goals depends largely on the regular payment of taxes and rates by residents.

Also speaking at the event, the Sanaahene of Kokompe, Nana Oteng Antwi, who represented the chiefs and people of the Asuboni Rails Zonal Council, called on residents to prioritize tax payment to attract more developmental projects.

He also appealed to Assembly leaders and revenue collectors to address challenges facing tax collection, accusing some clients of non-cooperation.
