Abuakwa North MP Welcomes Proposed GH¢100m GETFund Support for St. Paul’s TVET School
The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency, Hon. Nana Ampaw Kwame Addo Frempong, has expressed appreciation to the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, for responding to his appeal to give special attention to St. Paul’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) School at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region.
The MP’s appreciation follows a proposed allocation of GH¢100 million from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to support the production of beds for senior high schools across the country.
The initiative is expected to help address furniture shortages in schools while creating an opportunity for St. Paul’s TVET School to contribute to the production process through its technical and vocational expertise.
According to the MP, the proposed support would strengthen the school’s capacity to develop practical skills among students and contribute to national development through local production.
Hon. Nana Ampaw Kwame Addo Frempong also reminded the Education Minister of his earlier pledge to support the construction of an ultra-modern assembly hall for St. Paul’s TVET School.
He noted that the proposed facility would improve the school’s infrastructure and provide a suitable venue for assemblies, official programmes and other important gatherings.
The MP’s statement of appreciation was issued on October 16, 2026, as he reiterated the need for continued investment in technical and vocational education to equip students with practical skills and improve educational infrastructure.
The proposed allocation and the status of the assembly hall pledge were not independently verified for this report.
