G/A:Ablekuma Chiefs Forge Alliance to Promote Peace and Development Ahead of Homowo
Chiefs of Ablekuma have resolved to foster peaceful co-existence and harmony among themselves to ensure effective dispute resolution, as part of efforts to celebrate a peaceful Homowo festival.
According to Asafoatse Otubour Ɔnsurogya, the Ablekuma Asafoatse of the Nii Sempe Mensah Royal Family, the purpose of the joint gathering was to help resolve disputes in Ablekuma, bury the past, and mark a new beginning in leadership.
He explained that all three stool houses have expressed their desire to form an alliance to spur development in Ablekuma and drive the collective advancement of the area.
On his part, Nii Larbi Mensah V, the Ablekuma Mantse and Sempe Atofotse, expressed concern about the numerous chieftaincy conflicts bedeviling Ablekuma. He said they intend to resolve these disputes willingly and work together to attract investors for the benefit and development of the community.
Adding their remarks, Nii Opemire I, Bokoboko Mankralo, and Nii Kofi Mankralo Betwoolo of the Nii Kwaku Fosu Family, called for the preservation of chieftaincy dignity and mutual respect among themselves. They noted that it is their duty to uphold responsibility for development, stressing that the future of Ablekuma partly depends on them.
On security, the Odorkor Divisional Police Commander, ACP Kofi Sarpong, expressed excitement over the chiefs' decision to form an alliance and commended their commitment. He urged them to continue to uphold peaceful co-existence and harmony.
