E/R:Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang Donates Medical Equipment, Settles Patients’ Bills at Kyebi Government Hospital
The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, has donated a range of medical equipment to the Kyebi Government Hospital and settled outstanding inpatient bills for patients at the facility.
The intervention forms part of the MP’s continued efforts to support healthcare delivery and improve access to quality medical care for residents of Abuakwa South.
The donated items include three suction machines, three electronic scales with height measurement, two pulse oximeters, 10 blood pressure machines, 10 thermometers, three electronic patient monitors, 20 wheelchairs, several boxes of examination gloves and one Cardiotocography (CTG) machine.
The equipment is expected to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide efficient clinical services, particularly in emergency care, maternal healthcare, patient monitoring and other essential medical services.
Beyond the donation, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang also paid all outstanding inpatient bills at the hospital, providing immediate financial relief to patients and their families who may have faced difficulties settling their hospital expenses.
The latest intervention is not the first time the MP has supported the Kyebi Government Hospital. He has previously undertaken a number of interventions for the facility and its patients.
His support for the hospital, according to the MP, predates his return to government, as he continued to respond to the needs of the facility and constituents even while in opposition.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang urged healthcare professionals at the hospital to continue giving their best in the discharge of their duties.
He encouraged them to treat patients with compassion, dedication and professionalism, stressing that healthcare workers play a critical role in protecting lives and improving the wellbeing of residents.
While reaffirming his commitment to supporting the hospital where possible, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang called on the government to provide the facility with the necessary medical equipment and resources required for effective service delivery.
He noted that although individual donations could address some immediate needs, sustainable improvement in healthcare delivery requires continuous government investment.
The MP therefore appealed for additional medical equipment and other resources to enable healthcare workers at the Kyebi Government Hospital to perform their duties effectively.
The Chief Superintendent of the Kyebi Government Hospital, Dr. Isaac Antwi, expressed appreciation to Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang for the donation and his continued support for the facility.
Dr. Antwi acknowledged the importance of the equipment to the hospital and thanked the MP for demonstrating concern for both healthcare workers and patients.
He also described the payment of the outstanding inpatient bills as significant, saying it had provided immediate relief to affected patients and their families.
The presentation was witnessed by the Abuakwa South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Otis Asante, together with members of the NPP Constituency Executive Committee.
The intervention is expected to complement efforts by hospital management and government to improve healthcare delivery at the Kyebi Government Hospital.
For Hon. Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, the initiative represents a continued commitment to addressing the needs of residents and supporting critical institutions within Abuakwa South, while calling for broader government investment to ensure the hospital is adequately equipped to meet the healthcare needs of the growing population.
