E/R:26-Year-Old Allegedly Assaulted by Military Personnel at Kyebi



Agbeko Julious, a 26-year-old man, was allegedly assaulted by a military personnel at Kyebi in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.


According to reports, Julious was at a church making a phone call when the military personnel allegedly accused him of filming their operations at a nearby mining site.


The military personnel reportedly seized his mobile phone during the incident. The alleged assault left Julious with wounds on his back and arms.



The Kyebi Police have since retrieved the mobile phone, while the victim’s family is calling for a thorough investigation into the incident and demanding justice.


Meanwhile, there are growing concerns among residents over what they describe as alleged military brutality, which they say has recently surfaced in the community. The residents are therefore calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and ensure that such incidents are properly investigated to protect residents and maintain peace in the area.
