E/R:Kwahu West MCE Leads Massive Clean-Up Exercise in Nkawkaw CBD

 


Nkawkaw, Eastern Region – The Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, has led residents, traders, assembly members, and personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ambulance Service in a massive clean-up exercise across the Nkawkaw Central Business District and surrounding areas.


The exercise forms part of efforts by the Assembly to improve environmental sanitation and promote responsible waste management in the municipality.


Speaking after the exercise, Hon. Halidu commended participants for turning out in their numbers and urged residents to sustain the habit of keeping their surroundings clean. 


“Cleanliness is a collective responsibility. We must all play our part to ensure Kwahu West remains clean, healthy, and attractive for business and living,” he said.


Also speaking, Mr. Eric Klenam, Director of KLENAV Sanitation Company, the private waste management firm in charge of the municipality, reaffirmed his company’s commitment to providing efficient waste collection services. 


He appealed to residents and traders to desist from indiscriminate and illegal waste dumping, especially after sweeping, to help improve sanitation standards across the municipality.


The clean-up covered major streets, markets, and other public spaces within the Central Business District.
