Frontier Oil Ghana Limited has officially commissioned a new state-of-the-art fuel station in the Ablekuma community, marking a significant milestone in the company’s mission to drive local economic development and address the rising unemployment rate in Ghana.
The grand opening ceremony drew a crowd of local residents, transport union representatives, and traditional leaders, all eager to welcome the new business enterprise to the area.
In an interview with the media, the Head of Marketing for Frontier Oil Ghana Limited , Osuman Hamidu, emphasized that the company’s expansion strategy is deeply rooted in social responsibility.
"It is the long-standing dream of Frontier Oil to expand our network across the country. Our goal is twofold: to significantly reduce unemployment by creating jobs for the youth and to ensure that Ghanaian motorists have access to premium-quality fuel at the most moderate and affordable prices," Osuman Hamidu stated.
The arrival of the fuel station was met with enthusiasm by the traditional authorities. Nana Asirifi Gyan lll , the Akyeamehene of Awutu Senya Traditional area , graced the occasion and used the platform to offer a stern yet encouraging piece of advice to the new employees.
"Employment opportunities are scarce in our country today," Nana Asirifi Gyan noted. "To the youth who have secured positions here, I urge you to take your work seriously. Show diligence and commitment so that the management will not only keep you but continue to trust in the local workforce."
Security and a peaceful business environment were also key themes during the event. The Overlord of Gbawe, Nii Boi Kojo ll, expressed his profound gratitude to the management of Frontier Oil for choosing his jurisdiction for their investment. He issued a firm assurance that the community would protect the facility.
"I promise that we will ensure no individual or group disturbs your operations. We want your management and staff to have the peace of mind necessary to work effectively for the betterment of this community and the nation at large," Nii Boi Kojo ll declared.
Moving beyond community support, Nii Boi Kojo ll also made an appeal to the local transport unions. He encouraged commercial drivers and transport operators to patronize Frontier Oil, noting that consistent support from the community is the only way to ensure the company remains a permanent fixture in Ablekuma.
As Frontier Oil continues its expansion, the Ablekuma station stands as a model for how private sector growth can be harmonized with community interests to foster national development.
