E/R: NADMO Inspection Team Visits Abuakwa South, Urges Developers to Seek Approval Before Construction

A delegation from the National Inspectorate Department of the National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO, led by Mr. Richard Amo Yartey, paid a courtesy visit to the Abuakwa South NADMO Secretariat on *Tuesday, 3rd June 2026* at about 11:00am.

The team was received by the Municipal NADMO Director, Mr. Aikins Ofori. According to Mr. Yartey, the purpose of the visit was to inspect some ongoing fuel station construction projects at Asiakwa and provide technical recommendations to ensure compliance with safety and disaster prevention standards.

Speaking after the inspection, Mr. Yartey stressed the importance of consulting NADMO before starting any building or estate development. He advised estate developers and contractors to seek approval and guidance from NADMO to avoid structural defects, poor drainage, and other hazards that could lead to disasters during the rainy season.

He noted that early engagement with NADMO helps identify potential risks and ensures buildings meet safety regulations, thereby protecting lives and property.

The visit forms part of NADMO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster prevention and promote safer construction practices across the municipality.
