Asiedu Nketiah Honors Late Effiduase Chief with Major Donation to Final Funeral Rites

In a show of solidarity and respect for the traditional ties between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Effiduase community, the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has made a significant contribution toward the final funeral rites (Dote Yie) of the late Effiduase Chief, Nana Adu Ameyaw II.

The donation, intended to support the organization of the traditional ceremony, included a cash sum of GH₵20,000.00. Additionally, Mr. Nketiah provided 20 cases of bottled water, 20 cases of assorted soft drinks, and a variety of traditional spirits (schnapps) to facilitate the customary rites.

Speaking during the presentation, representatives of the delegation highlighted the longstanding relationship between the National Chairman and the late chief. They noted that the gesture was not merely a matter of political protocol, but a personal tribute reflecting the mutual respect and friendship the two leaders shared during Nana Adu Ameyaw’s lifetime.

"The late Nana Adu Ameyaw was a man of peace and a leader who valued the development of his people," the delegation stated. "Chairman Asiedu Nketiah holds the people of Effiduase in high regard and wishes to ensure that the final rites are conducted with the dignity and cultural excellence that a chief of his stature deserves."

The elders and the funeral planning committee expressed their profound gratitude to the NDC National Chairman, acknowledging his support as a vital contribution toward a befitting farewell. They further noted that the gesture has strengthened the bond between the party’s leadership and the traditional authorities in the area.

The Dote Yie ceremony, which culminates in the traditional burial rites, has seen a significant influx of dignitaries, community leaders, and mourners from across the country.
