E/R:Kwahu Easter Festival Launched with Flair in Eastern Region

 


The Kwahu Easter Festival has kicked off in Kwahu Tafo, Eastern Region, with traditional pomp and pageantry. Nana Okyerɛ Gyenya II, Krontihene of Kwahu Tafo, officially launched this year's festivities at the Kwahu Tafo Palace, highlighting the area's rich cultural heritage and tourist attractions.


Nana Okyerɛ Gyenya II emphasized the significance of preserving and showcasing Kwahu's traditions, pointing out notable sites that attract visitors. Nana Kwame Akuokuo, Secretary of the Kwahu Tafo Easter Festival Committee, expressed excitement about the event's programme, which includes a traditional walk (Nanatje), local food market, cooking competition, gospel music night, artiste night, and visits to tourist sites like the Butuase Waterfalls and Bruku Rock.



The Queenmother of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Gyamfuah Aduako III, urged all to celebrate the festival in harmony, emphasizing Kwahu's peaceful atmosphere. She also advised women on decent dressing during the festivities, promoting cultural values.


The committee has invited locals and diasporans to participate and support the celebration, promising an attractive and memorable Easter experience with both local and invited artistes performing.
