E/R: 13-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Murdered at Osiem

A tragic incident has shocked residents of Akyem Osiem-Kyekyewere in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, as a 13-year-old boy, identified as Richmond K. Antony, popularly known as "Paa," was allegedly murdered by an unknown assailant on the evening of Wednesday, June 11, 2025.


According to the victim’s father, the young boy had stepped out around 7:00 p.m. to buy food but returned shortly after with multiple cutlass wounds on his body, crying out in pain. He was immediately rushed to the Hawa Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The matter has since been reported to the Akyem New Tafo Police Command, who have launched investigations into the alleged murder. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The Chief of Coaltar in the Eastern Region, Barima Asiedu Okekrebesi II, has been destooled following a violent clash in Kraboa, a farming community in the Ayensuano District, which led to the tragic deaths of two individuals. The destoolment was officially announced by a delegation of traditional leaders (Nananom), led by the Apapamhene and Amantuomiensahene, Osabarima Okogyeaman Apagya Fori. The delegation carried out the customary destoolment process at the Coaltar Palace.
