Akyem Begoro Welcomes New Chief with Grand Outdooring and Free Health Screening for Over 700 Residents

The official outdooring of Daasebere Mireku Afari II as Okyeman Benkumhene, Fanteakwa Hene, and Chief of Akyem Begoro was marked with a grand celebration that brought together residents from across the community. The historic event was not only a cultural spectacle but also a humanitarian gesture, as over 700 people benefited from free health screening and renewal of National Health Insurance.

The initiative, led by the newly enstooled chief, demonstrated his deep commitment to the well-being of his people. "I can't rule my people when they are not feeling well. It's my mandate to know their health status so that I can help them in terms of medical bills, health facilities, and other services," Daasebere Mireku Afari II stated during the event.

The health screening offered many residents—particularly those with limited access to healthcare—the opportunity to check for potential health issues, receive medical advice, and obtain free medications. Barikisu Mensah, the director of the health screening program, urged citizens to prioritize regular medical check-ups, healthy eating, and exercise to maintain good health and serve the nation better.

Community elders, leaders, and representatives from neighboring towns and villages were also present, adding to the festive atmosphere filled with traditional music, dancing, and speeches.

The event served as a strong start to Daasebere Mireku Afari II’s reign. He announced plans for further initiatives in education, sanitation, water supply, infrastructure, and investment attraction, all aimed at transforming Akyem Begoro into a hub of progress and prosperity.
