W/R:Joana Gyan Cudjoe Empowers Women in Amenfi Central with GHC 2.7 Million Investment

Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central in the Western Region, has once again demonstrated her commitment to community development by investing over GHC 2.7 million in empowering women in her constituency. This initiative, which aligns with her campaign promise, seeks to provide women with the necessary tools and skills to become self-sufficient and economically independent.

The investment focuses primarily on vocational training in dressmaking and hairdressing, two fields that provide stable employment opportunities for women in the region. As part of the initiative, 500 sewing machines and 500 hairdryers were distributed to women interested in learning these trades. These tools are expected to equip beneficiaries with the means to start their own businesses, generate income, and contribute to the economic growth of Amenfi Central.

Beyond vocational training, Joana Gyan Cudjoe also extended her support to the larger community by donating 130 bags of rice (25kg each), 400 jerseys, and 400 footballs. These contributions highlight her holistic approach to development, ensuring that beyond economic empowerment, community welfare and sports development are also prioritized.

Joana Gyan Cudjoe has consistently championed women’s empowerment and economic independence, recognizing that when women are given the right resources, they can play a significant role in transforming their communities. Speaking at the donation event, she emphasized the importance of creating sustainable livelihoods for women, particularly those who have been financially marginalized.

She stated that investing in women is an investment in the future and that this initiative is not just about distributing sewing machines or hairdryers but about providing the foundation for women to build their own businesses, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to society.

She further urged the beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity, stressing that her commitment to the development of Amenfi Central goes beyond this single donation. She revealed that additional programs focusing on entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, and access to funding would soon be introduced to ensure that women are well-equipped to sustain and expand their businesses.

The initiative has been warmly received by the people of Amenfi Central, with many praising Joana Gyan Cudjoe for her dedication to improving the lives of women and youth in the constituency.

Samuel Adjei Acheampong, the Assemblyman for Akyem Muoso, expressed his appreciation on behalf of the residents, stating that the MP’s leadership has brought tangible improvements to the community in just two years.

He noted that this level of support for women in the constituency is unprecedented and that many women now have the chance to learn a skill, start their own businesses, and become financially independent. He expressed gratitude for her tireless efforts in supporting the community.

Beneficiaries of the initiative also shared their excitement and appreciation. Akosua Mensah, a young woman who received a sewing machine, said that the donation had given her a fresh start in life. She mentioned that she had always wanted to learn dressmaking but could not afford the tools, and now she has the opportunity to pursue her dream and support her family.

This initiative is part of a broader vision by Joana Gyan Cudjoe to transform Amenfi Central into a hub for women’s economic empowerment. She has outlined plans to establish training centers where women can hone their skills, gain mentorship, and access startup capital for their businesses.

Additionally, she emphasized the need for sustainable community development, stating that her leadership would continue to prioritize education, infrastructure, and job creation to ensure that Amenfi Central thrives in the long term.

Her remarkable leadership and dedication have set a new standard for community engagement, proving that political leaders can drive meaningful change when they focus on the needs of their people.

In conclusion, Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s GHC 2.7 million investment in women is more than just a donation—it is a strategic move to uplift, empower, and transform lives in Amenfi Central. As she continues to advocate for inclusive growth, her efforts serve as an inspiration for other leaders to follow.
