E/R:Kwahu Installs New Paramount Chief: A Call for Unity and Development
The Kwahu Traditional Council and its kingmakers have officially outdoored Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III as the new Kwahuhene (Paramount Chief of Kwahu) in a grand and colorful ceremony at his palace in Kwahu East District, Eastern Region.
During the event, Acheamfour Asiedu Agyemang III, the Chief of Kwahu Abetifi and Kwahu Adontenhene, emphasized the significance of the installation process. He explained that the new paramount chief had undergone customary confinement, during which he was educated on traditional leadership and customs. After successfully completing this process, he was formally introduced to his subjects. Acheamfour Asiedu Agyemang III also urged all chiefs and the people of Kwahu to rally behind the new leader for the advancement of the traditional area.
On her part, Nana Adwoa Gyemfuah III, the Paramount Queen-mother of Kwahu (Kwahuhemaa), expressed optimism that the new chief’s reign would bring significant development. She called for unity among the people, encouraging them to put aside their differences and support Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III’s vision for progress.
Addressing the gathering, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III expressed gratitude to the kingmakers and the people of Kwahu for their confidence in him. He pledged to continue the good works of his predecessors, prioritizing peace, unity, and stability to attract investors and drive development. As part of his commitment to economic growth, he announced the allocation of 200 acres of land—120 acres already graded—for agricultural projects. He emphasized the importance of farming in ensuring food security and job creation for the youth.
Furthermore, the new Kwahuhene revealed plans to collaborate with the Minister of Roads and Highways and the five Members of Parliament within the Kwahu bloc. He promised to secure two tractors to support farming efforts, ensuring increased productivity and economic benefits for the region and the nation. Additionally, he pledged his full support for Kwahu United Football Club, aiming to help the team reach the Ghana Premier League.
The event marked the beginning of a new era for Kwahu, with the leadership of Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III centered on unity, development, and prosperity for all.
