ER MINISTER INSPECTS DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN LOWER MANYA KROBO

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has inspected several development projects funded under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

The visit aimed to assess the progress and quality of the projects, ensure they meet required standards, and identify potential challenges for necessary interventions.
Mrs. Awatey and her team inspected the construction of a Business Resource Center and over 200 lockable stores at Agormanya. Other projects included the bituminous surfacing of the 1.2-kilometre Canaan and Kpanyas roads, the construction of the Atua-Adjikpo-Yokunya road, the one-kilometre SAS George Street, as well as the construction of box culverts and storm drains at Manaam. The resurfacing of the Nuaso-Kpong Quarters Junction road was also assessed.
The Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme seeks to enhance infrastructure and services in secondary cities across Ghana through financial and technical support.

Mrs. Awatey expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and noted that the projects would boost economic activities in the area. She assured that similar projects would be replicated in other municipalities and districts. She also urged beneficiaries to maintain the facilities to ensure their long-term sustainability.
