A/R:Ghana Police Arrest Key Suspect in Kumasi MoMo Vendor Murder Case

The Ghana Police Service has arrested another suspect in connection with the robbery and murder of a mobile money (MoMo) vendor in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

Following a successful intelligence-led operation, the suspect, identified as Martin Amoah, also known as Baba Macho, was apprehended at his hideout in Kpone, Greater Accra Region, on March 27, 2025.

Prior to his arrest, the Ashanti Regional Police Command had declared Baba Macho wanted after the apprehension of three other male suspects linked to the crime.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, DSP Godwin Ahianyo of the Police Public Affairs Unit in the Ashanti Region confirmed that intelligence efforts led to Baba Macho’s capture.

“With his arrest, the total number of suspects in custody in connection with the killings of the two mobile money operators has now risen to four,” the statement noted.

Baba Macho is expected to be arraigned in court soon as investigations continue.
