E/R:PREPARATION: THE PATH TO FULFILLING GREAT EXPECTATIONS – REV. MOSES ANSONG

Reverend Moses Ansong, the Second Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Koforidua Ascension Congregation, has emphasized on the importance of preparation in fulfilling expectations. Speaking on the theme *"The Great Expectation,"* the reverend minister, highlighted that true expectation requires deliberate and committed preparation.

Using the analogy of an expectant mother and her husband, Rev. Ansong illustrated their preparation for the arrival of their new child by acquiring essential items including cot sheets, nappies, toiletries, and making space in their home for the new baby. This process, Rev. Ansong said; mirrors the spiritual preparation Christians must undergo as they anticipate the second coming of Jesus Christ; Advent.

He urged Christians to accept the holy birth of Jesus Christ during the Christmas and also, to get themselves ready for His second coming. Rev. Ansong said just as the joy on the receipt of new born erodes the agony the expectant mother went through, so would it be at the time when Christians are received by Christ at His second coming.

Rev. Ansong assured believers that the return of Jesus Christ will restore all losses, wipe away all tears, and then erase all suffering and misfortunes. He emphasized that this "Great Expectation" requires serious preparation and that Christians must ensure their bodies, souls, and spirits remain blameless. They should avoid anything that defiles, such as alcohol or hard drugs. Believers must wholly dedicate themselves to the Lord and live in constant readiness to welcome Him. He urged Christians never to forsake the gathering of believers, they should diligently study the Word, and continue in fervent prayers in order to resist the devil, whose mission is to steal, kill and destroy.

Rev. Ansong concluded with a call to action, urging all Christians to recognize that they are in the last days. He encouraged the faithfuls to remain vigilant and steadfast in their preparation, ensuring that their anticipation is met with joy when Christ returns.
