  A Senior High School student has died by suicide after an incident involving the arrest of her alleged boyfriend, police and school sources say. The girl, who lived in a school boarding house, reportedly signed an exeat to return home but instead went to visit the boyfriend. Her father later visited the school looking for her and was told by the housemistress that his daughter had taken an exeat to go home. Unable to find her, the father went to the boyfriend’s residence and had him arrested, according to reports. Following the arrest, the distraught student — said to have opposed her father’s action — was found dead after ingesting a substance. Mr. Aikins Ofori, the Abuakwa South Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), who also serves as the Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency, has questioned Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent comments on political intimidation.
