NDC Chairman Asks for Stolen Funds Back, Promises Development
National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has issued a stern call for public officials who allegedly misappropriated funds during previous administrations to return the money, vowing that the NDC government will pursue such funds for national development.
Addressing a gathering in Lower Manya Krobo as part of his thank-you tour in the Eastern Region, "General Mosquito," as he is popularly known, declared that the NDC's commitment to accountability transcends political affiliation.
"Some of the NPP men have started bringing the money they stole during their turn of power," Asiedu Nketia stated, implying that efforts are already underway to recover these funds. "We don't care if you are an NPP or NDC person. If you have stolen Ghanaians' tax money, we will make sure you vomit it out."
He emphasized that any recovered funds would be directly channeled into developmental projects that would benefit all Ghanaians. "That money will be used for development which everyone will benefit from it," he asserted.
The NDC Chairman's remarks come amidst ongoing discussions about economic management and the need for transparent governance in the country. His strong stance suggests a renewed focus by the NDC on tackling corruption and ensuring that public resources are utilized for the intended purpose of improving the lives of citizens. The specifics of which "NPP men" he was referring to and the evidence of funds being returned were not elaborated upon in the provided statement.
The tour in the Eastern Region is part of the NDC's broader strategy to engage with grassroots members and the general public following recent political developments. Asiedu Nketia's pronouncements are likely to resonate with segments of the population concerned about corruption and the equitable distribution of national resources.
