E/R:Madam Adam Yvette Pledges to Empower Women in Abuakwa North NDC

Madam Adam Yvette, popularly known as Hawa, Deputy Women’s Organizer hopeful of the Abuakwa North Constituency NDC and No. 2 on the ballot, has pledged to empower women and improve their welfare to promote sustainable development in the constituency.


Speaking to the press after her vetting at the Nsutam Community Centre in the Eastern Region on Sunday, September 27, 2026, Madam Yvette questioned why women within the NDC should engage in disputes over school feeding contracts and why they should struggle to access loans to expand their businesses.


She said, if given the opportunity, she would use her networks and connections at the national and international levels to help create opportunities for women, including access to resources, loans and other forms of support to improve their livelihoods.


Madam Yvette also emphasised the importance of women’s welfare, assuring delegates that she would make the wellbeing and interests of women a major priority if elected. She said she would work to ensure that women receive the necessary support and opportunities to become economically empowered.


She explained that although she has the capacity to assist women, doing so without being an executive member could create the perception that she was trying to take over the responsibilities of elected executives. She said this was one of the reasons she decided to seek the mandate of delegates.


Madam Yvette stressed that she is contesting on her own ticket and not on anyone’s behalf, saying this would allow her to independently pursue her vision and ambitions for women without becoming a puppet of any individual or group.


She further stressed that party unity is key to electoral victory and pledged to work towards bringing members together and strengthening unity within the constituency if given the mandate.


She therefore appealed to delegates to support her candidature and vote for No. 2, Madam Adam Yvette (Hawa) in the upcoming Abuakwa North NDC Constituency elections.

Dr. Kingsley Agyeman, the parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa South Constituency, has extended a generous hand to support local youth and artisans.
