E/R: KWAKU EFO DENIES GALAMSEY ALLEGATIONS AT KYEBI APAPAM, SAYS HE IS IMPROVING ACCESS TO CLINIC

A resident of Kyebi Apapam in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region, Kwaku Efo, has denied allegations circulating on social media accusing him of engaging in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, in the area.


According to Kwaku Efo, the activities being carried out at the location have no connection with illegal mining, explaining that he is instead reshaping and improving a footpath leading to a clinic to make access to the health facility easier for residents.


He said the initiative is intended to address difficulties faced by residents, particularly patients, the elderly and health workers who use the pathway to access the clinic.



Kwaku Efo explained that the poor condition of the pathway has made movement difficult, especially for people seeking medical attention, and said the work is aimed at creating a more accessible route to the facility.


He described the social media reports alleging that he was undertaking illegal mining at the location as false and misleading.


Kwaku Efo urged residents and the general public not to rely on unverified information circulating on social media, stressing the need for people to establish the facts before drawing conclusions or sharing such reports.


He maintained that the work being undertaken at the location is solely intended to improve access to the clinic and does not constitute illegal mining activity.


He further appealed to residents of Apapam and surrounding communities to support initiatives that seek to improve access to essential services and contribute to the development of the community.


Meanwhile, the Pastor of the Apapam Salvation Army Church, Captain Sampson Antwi, has commended Kwaku Efo for what he described as his efforts to improve conditions within the community.



Captain Antwi said the work being undertaken by Kwaku Efo will benefit residents, particularly those who depend on the clinic, and described the initiative as a positive legacy he is leaving behind for the community.


He encouraged Kwaku Efo to continue supporting the community and undertaking initiatives that contribute to the welfare and development of residents.
