E/R: AMAGYEI FOUNDATION CALLS ON TRADITIONAL AUTHORITIES TO SUPERVISE TEACHING AND LEARNING

The Chief Executive Officer of the AMAGYEI Foundation, Lawyer Ofosua Amagyei, has called on traditional authorities to play a more active role in improving the quality of education in public schools by regularly supervising teaching and learning.


According to her, traditional authorities, as custodians of the land, have a responsibility to ensure that activities taking place within their traditional areas, including education, receive the necessary attention and supervision.


Lawyer Ofosua Amagyei made the call when the AMAGYEI Foundation presented educational and personal-care items to 10 selected Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates from Akyem Maase in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region who are preparing to enter Senior High School.



The presentation, which took place on September 21, 2026, formed part of the foundation’s efforts to support young people in the community and promote education.


The beneficiaries received travelling bags, toiletries, groceries, essential educational materials and wooden chop boxes to assist them as they begin their Senior High School education.

Lawyer Ofosua Amagyei urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items for their intended purposes and take their studies seriously as they embark on a new academic journey.


She explained that the gesture was part of the foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting the educational aspirations of young people in Akyem Maase.


The Greater Accra Regional Director of Informal Apprenticeship at Ghana TVET Service, Mr Charles Quanoo, popularly known as Uncle Ato, commended the AMAGYEI Foundation for the initiative and called on other individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture.


He noted that the AMAGYEI Foundation has several programmes aimed at promoting the development of Akyem Maase and encouraged parents to pay greater attention to the education of their children, particularly girls, as education remains important to the socio-economic development of the community.


The Queen Mother of Akyem Maase, Obaapnin Oforiwa Obimpeh, who chaired the event, also commended the vision of the AMAGYEI Foundation.


She described the foundation’s initiative as a welcome development for Akyem Maase and Okyeman as a whole, and appealed to community members to support the foundation in achieving its objectives.


Obaapnin Oforiwa Obimpeh expressed gratitude to Lawyer Ofosua Amagyei for the initiative and urged stakeholders to continue working together to promote education and development in the community.
