E/R:New Juaben North: Over 300 Mothers Receive Health Screening and High-End Gifts to Mark Mother’s Day

ASOKORE, Eastern Region — In a grand gesture of appreciation for motherhood, the V.A.G. Community Initiative, led by philanthropist Mr. Victor Asare Gyapong, has held a massive health and donation drive for women in the New Juaben North Municipality. The event, organized in collaboration with The Base Movement of Ghana First, took place at the Asokore Chief’s Palace forecourt to commemorate this year's Mother’s Day celebrations.

The primary focus of the event was a comprehensive free health screening exercise conducted by medical staff from the Gyamfikrom CHPS Compound. Madam Yaa, a Senior Midwife who led the medical team, disclosed to the press that the most prevalent health issues identified among the participants included hypertension (High Blood Pressure), chronic waist pains, and complaints of blurred vision.

Speaking on the motivation behind the initiative, Mr. Victor Asare Gyapong emphasized that the health screening was a vital way to honor mothers, ensuring they remain healthy enough to continue their essential roles in the family and community. He highlighted that the collaboration with The Base Movement was born out of a shared vision to provide tangible support to the vulnerable within the municipality.

The celebration took an extraordinary turn when Mr. Gyapong presented an array of high-value gifts to over 300 women. The items distributed included fiber gas cylinders, tabletop freezers, 32-inch digital plasma TVs, washing machines, four-burner gas stoves with ovens, microwaves, cooking utensils, high-quality fabrics, and detergents.

Dr. George Osei Oti Bonsu, Founder of The Base Ghana First movement, graced the occasion and lauded Mr. Gyapong’s charitable spirit. He noted that such gestures are rare and commended the philanthropist for his consistent dedication to the welfare of the people of New Juaben North and beyond.

The event was attended by several high-profile personalities, including Apostle Abujine, retired military and police commanders, and representatives from the Abosokai spare parts dealers association, all of whom gathered to witness the massive show of communal support.
