SOUTH AKIM COMMUNITY BANK URGED TO INTENSIFY CSR AS IT MARKS 41ST AGM
The South Akim Community Bank has been urged to intensify its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to strengthen its engagement with communities within its operational areas.
The call was made by the Eastern Regional Director of the Association of Community Banks, Mr. Patrick Amanor Bucker, who said the transition from rural banking to community banking requires financial institutions to deepen their involvement in grassroots development.
Mr. Bucker made the remarks while addressing shareholders and other stakeholders at the 41st Annual General Meeting of the South Akim Community Bank held at Nankese in the Eastern Region.
He urged community banks to channel more resources into initiatives that directly benefit shareholders and customers, while also supporting Farmers' Day celebrations and improving local health and educational facilities.
He stressed that such interventions would help strengthen the relationship between community banks and the people they serve.
The Chief Executive Officer of South Akim Community Bank, Mr. Okuka Bruce, assured stakeholders that the bank would continue to prioritise human-centred development and support vital infrastructure projects in its catchment communities.
He said the bank would work closely with its shareholders and other development stakeholders to contribute to sustainable development within the communities.
The Board Chairman of South Akim Community Bank, Dr. Theophilus Oware, attributed the bank's sustained growth and success over the years to continuous investment in staff capacity building.
He assured shareholders that the board and management would maintain the focus on developing staff capacity as part of efforts to strengthen the bank's operations and sustain its growth.
