E/R: AKYEM MAASE AFI TANTIA ROYAL FAMILY ENSTOOLS NEW KRONTIHENE AND MMABAAHEMAA

The Akyem Maase Afi Tantia Ekuona Royal Family in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region has enstooled Nana Kwadwo Baah Asiedu I as Krontihene and Nana Afia Tantia Amponsah Bosompem as Mmabaahemaa, alongside seven other royals.


The enstoolment ceremony was held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as part of efforts by the Afi Tantia Royal Family to reorganize its traditional leadership structure and strengthen unity among family members.


Superintending over the enstoolment, the Abodwesehene, Nana Kontwiedu, known in private life as Nana Kwadwo Boakye, emphasized that the exercise was strictly limited to the Afi Tantia Royal Family and should not be misconstrued as an enstoolment for the entire Akyem Maase community.


He explained that the family had recognized the need to reorganize and re-energize its traditional structures to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and development among its members.


Nana Kontwiedu called on members of the Afi Tantia Royal Family to put aside their differences, work together and support initiatives that could contribute to the socio-economic development and progress of the family.


He further appealed to all members to respect the newly constituted traditional leadership and ensure that their actions and decisions promote peace and harmony.


The Abodwesehene also cautioned individuals who may seek to create confusion or undermine the peace of the area to desist from such acts, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and stability within Akyem Maase.


The newly enstooled Krontihene, Mmabaahemaa and the other royals are expected to work with the family leadership and members to advance the interests of the Afi Tantia Royal Family and contribute to its unity and development.
