E/R:Abuakwa North NCCE Takes Akyem Tafo Roses JHS Pupils to Nopras FM for Citizenship Week Engagement
The Abuakwa North Municipal National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), led by Mrs. Beatrice N. Opoku Budu, took selected pupils of Akyem Tafo Roses M/A JHS to Nopras 107.5 FM on Monday, 14th June 2026, as part of activities marking this year’s Citizenship Week Celebration (CWC).
The participating pupils were Prince Okere, Benjamin Mensah, and Anita Oforiwaa, all JHS 2 students, accompanied by their patron, Okyere Darko. The visit gave the students a platform to engage with civic issues beyond the classroom and understand their role as young citizens.
This year’s CWC focuses on shaping civic awareness among school children through practical, real-life engagement, including discussions on responsible use of digital platforms. The programme highlights how children in Ghana are increasingly active online, and stresses the need for them to use digital spaces wisely, protect one another, promote truth, and uphold constitutional values both online and offline.
The Abuakwa North NCCE said the initiative is aimed at helping pupils see themselves as active participants in governance and national development as Ghana marks Citizenship Week from May through June.
