E/R: Missing Civilian Employee Found Dead in Bediasi River — Pathologist Confirms Severely Dismembered Remains; Body Released to Family for Burial
The community of Ahyia Yeboah near Sokode-Juaso, close to Akyem Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, continues to grapple with fear and tension following the tragic death of Kwadwo Yeboah, a civilian employee at Burma Camp who was reported missing earlier this month.
Mr. Yeboah disappeared on 16th November 2025 after visiting Foforfo to retrieve a mobile phone. His body was later discovered in the Bediasi River on 25th November by a community search team, sparking anger among residents and leading to the burning of three houses before the Ghana National Fire Service brought the situation under control.
Police earlier deployed a pathologist to assist in the professional retrieval and examination of the remains. Upon arrival, the pathologist confirmed that the body had been severely dismembered, and some parts were already in an advanced state of decomposition.
Due to the condition of the remains, authorities have since released the body to the family for immediate burial in accordance with public health and safety considerations.
Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, while one individual remains at large. The Eastern Regional Police Command has assured the public that investigations are still ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the death and to bring all perpetrators to justice.
The community remains anxious but hopeful for swift action as security personnel continue to maintain order and monitor the area.
