Save The Nation For Future Leaders Calls on Putin to Aid Ghana’s Green Agenda.

Accra, September 2, 2025 — Save The Nation For Future Leaders, a Ghanaian non-governmental organization (NGO), has appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to support Ghana’s fight against environmental degradation.

In a letter dated September 2, 2025, and copied to the President of Ghana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Founder and President of the NGO, Mr. Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, stressed the urgent need for stronger international cooperation to address environmental challenges in Ghana.

The organization, which has been active in peace, justice, and environmental sustainability advocacy, recalled its earlier petitions during the Russia–Ukraine war, urging Russia and the United Nations to pursue dialogue as the most constructive path to peace.

Highlighting the severity of the situation in Ghana, the letter pointed to the devastating effects of deforestation, water pollution, and unsustainable mining practices on ecosystems and livelihoods. “While conflicts and wars continue to draw global attention, we believe the greatest and most urgent battle for humanity is the one against environmental degradation,” the letter stated.

The NGO appealed to President Putin to leverage his global influence to help mobilize resources, partnerships, and action in support of reforestation, clean energy, and responsible mining initiatives in Ghana.

Mr. Apeakorang further expressed his organization’s willingness to meet with President Putin to discuss possible collaborations, expressing confidence that such support would go a long way toward safeguarding Ghana’s environment for future generations.
